Kyushu Jangara Akihabara main branch was established in order to support our core project: "Bulkan tutoring school.

The birth of our mild tonkotsu ramen

Released Miso-flavored "Kyushu Jangara Miso”
Inspired by a staff member's innovative idea to combine miso with our signature tonkotsu broth, this new ramen.
1986
Opened "Kyushu Jangara Harajuku"
Less than two years after its founding, the company opened "Kyushu Jangara Harajuku branch," a bold venture that would eventually become its flagship shop and play a pivotal role in the brand's growth and success.

1988
Released Creamy tonkotsu "Bonshan"
Reviving the authentically rich and flavorful soup of Kyushu ramen. With four years of experience and accumulated knowledge, we have created an evolved, intensely flavorful soup.
1990
Opend "Bar de Janguara"
We opened a restaurant bar to foster cross-disciplinary exchange and broaden our knowledge and perspectives.
1991
Opened "Kyushu Jangaera Ginza"
A new store has opened on Ginza Mihara-dori in Ginza 7-chome.

Relocation of "Bar de Janguara"
Relocated to the street one block behind Omotesando, our current location.
1993
Opened "Kyushu Jangara Harajuku-1F"
A new store has opened on the floor below the "Kyushu Jangara Harajuku(2F)".

Central Kitchen Operation Begins
In order to overcome the limitations of our small kitchen, such as a lack of preparation space and time, we implemented a central kitchen system.

1994
Opened "Kyushu Jangara Akasaka"
Our new store is now located in Nagatacho 2-chome, just a short distance from the impressive torii gate of Hie Shrine.

Released Kumamoto-style "Kobonshan"
To fully express our deep-rooted passion for Kumamoto ramen, we have developed a new soup that surpasses the limitations of our previous "bonshan" offerings.
1995
Published Poetry and Art Collection
In response to a publishing house's proposal to share the unique perspectives and philosophies of the "Bulkan tutoring school" and "Kyushu Jangara" in a world filled with challenges, we embarked on a project to publish a six-volume series of poetry and art collections.

1998
Released Original Merchandise
We kicked off our merchandise line with a meticulously crafted miniature keychain that perfectly replicates the iconic "Kyushu Jangara Zenbuiri".
note: This has since been changed to a strap.

2000
Opened "Kyushu Jangara Nihombashi"
We have opened a new store in the heart of Japan's financial district.

Logotype Refresh
We've unveiled a new, bold logotype featuring a custom calligraphy-inspired typeface that embodies our company's core values. To complement the updated logotype, our signage has been redesigned with a vibrant aesthetic and a refreshing blue sky backdrop.
Official Website Launch
Launched our official website as a platform for actively disseminating information to better serve our customers.
2002
Released Spicy tonkotsu "Karabon"
We added a new and exciting flavor to our menu with "Karabon," a spicy tonkotsu ramen made by infusing our creamy "Bonshan" tonkotsu soup with a blend of over a dozen spices.
Released Tukemen "Tsukechan"
Our unique "Kyushu Jangara" tsukemen was born, combining a pork bone broth with a flavorful seafood broth.

2004
Released Barley Miso Broth "Mugichan"
New tonkotsu miso soup made with sweet Kyushu barley miso.
Birth of the Characters
To bring our ramen to life, we created a diverse cast of characters including "Mr. Kyusama," "Bomber Chanson," and "Misonoyama Jangoro," each personifying a distinct flavor profile of our Kyushu Jangara ramen.

2006
Relocation of Central kitchen
We relocated our central kitchen and renamed it "J-Factory"
2007
Temporary Closure of "Kyushu Jangara Ginza"
Due to difficulties in finding a new location following the redevelopment of the building, the Ginza branch was temporarily closed.
Opened "Kyushu Jangara Kanda-nishiguchi"
To make up for the temporary closure of "Kyushu Jangara Ginza," we opened a new, temporary location.

Opened "Omotesando Jangara 2F"
We have fully renovated the former "Kyushu Jangara Harajuku 2F" location and reopened it as a new store with an exotic, Japanese-Western fusion design inspired by a Dutch mansion.

2008
Relocation of "Kyushu Jangara Akasaka"
Due to the redevelopment of the building, the restaurant was relocated to its current location.
2009
Opened "Tokyo Ramen Tower"
Established a groundbreaking sister shop in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo.

Started selling "Bonshan" all day long
Expanded the sales hours of "Bonshan" and "Karabon" at our Akihabara main branch to include daytime hours, previously only sold at night.
2010
Launched official SNS
Started operating an official Twitter account.
The current account was established in 2018.
Closed "Kyushu Jangara Kanda-nishiguchi"
Preparations for opening of the relocated Kyushu Jangara Ginza are now complete. As a result, the Kanda-nishiguchi branch has closed."
Relocation of "Kyushu Jangara Ginza"
Kyushu Jangara Ginza has relocated and reopened at its new address in Ginza 6-chome.
2011
Opened "Kyushu Jangara Seibu-ikebukuro"
We opened our first in-store shop at Seibu Ikebukuro.

2013
Released plant-based ramen soup
The plant-based soup that became the origin of our 'Vegan Ramen' was created.

Kyushu Jangara featured on JAL international flights.
A menu jointly developed with Japan Airlines began service on select JAL international routes.

2015
Opened a store in Bangkok, Thailand
Opened the first overseas store in partnership with Thai conglomerate PM Group.

2016
Released 'Vegan Ramen'
Introduced the first all-plant-based ramen, featuring a plant-based soup, noodles, and toppings.

2018
Released 'Wafu Yuzu Shio Vegan Ramen
Introduced a new plant-based soup, the second installment in our vegan ramen series.
2020
Released 'Kumamoto Mayu Vegan Ramen
A plant-based ramen reminiscent of pork bone broth, without any animal-based ingredients. A special dish to commemorate our 35th anniversary.
All stores closed for 40 days
.An unprecedented long-term closure as a measure to prevent the spread of infection during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Kyushu Jangara Nihonbashi" Closed
Closed due to the redevelopment of the Nihonbashi Ichchome-Naka district.

We opened a new type of shop with a more focused menu.

We've developed a ramen kit so you can enjoy the taste of Kyushu Jangara in the comfort of your own home.

We started selling our original products, including ramen kits, through our online shop.
2021
Opened "Vegan Bistro Jangara"
"Omotesando Jangara 2F" underwent a complete renovation and reopened as a plant-based casual restaurant.

2023
Closure of "Kyushu Jangara Plus"
"Kyushu Jangara Plus" was closed due to a staff reallocation to accommodate increased customer traffic at other locations.
2024
Closure of "Kyushu Jangara Seibu-ikebukuro"
Due to the Seibu Ikebukuro department store renovation project, the Kyushu Jangara branch was closed.
"Vegan Bistro Jangara" Honored with Prestigious Award
"Vegan Bistro Jangara" has been recognized with the "Restaurant & Cafe Award" at the 2024 Japan Vegan Awards, hosted by the Japan Plant based Market Association.
